The roof inspection went well. You showed the homeowner the photos. They saw the soft decking near the valley and understood why the ventilation needed work. You walked through the scope and answered their questions. But then you showed them the price, and the conversation changed.
Maybe they asked what they could take off the estimate, or the appointment ended with, “We’ll think about it.”
For many homeowners, the problem is the lump sum. In fact, 46% of homeowners would rather finance a job than pay for it out of pocket.
Plenty of contractors already offer financing, but that doesn’t mean their reps use it consistently. If offering financing means leaving the estimate, opening another app, and logging into a system they rarely use, it’s easy to skip it in the middle of a sale. But if you bring financing up after a price objection, it can feel more like an attempt to save the sale than a payment option that was there all along.
That timing matters. Homeowners who are offered financing inside the proposal are 35% more likely to buy immediately. JobNimbus Financing puts the payment option on the estimate, then keeps the loan on the job where the conversation is already happening.Â
Show the price and monthly payment together
With JobNimbus Financing, your rep can add financing while they build the estimate. When the homeowner gets the project price, they can see a monthly payment option alongside it. The difference between Good and Best may be thousands of dollars in total price, while the difference between the monthly payments can feel much more manageable.Â
If they’re interested, they apply right from the estimate. Checking eligibility doesn’t affect their credit, and approved homeowners can choose their terms and accept from there.
Once an application is underway, your team can follow it on the JobNimbus job record. Applications, decisions, and payments stay with the job, so there isn’t another portal your team has to remember to check.
Financing is offered through Wisetack, an embedded lending platform that works with its own lending partners. You’ll complete one business application to get connected. After that, you can add financing to your estimates and send financing links right from the job.
Make financing easier to offer in the field
Sometimes the biggest reason that reps don’t offer financing is that it’s a hassle. Picture your rep standing in the driveway with a homeowner. The estimate is open, and the conversation’s moving.Â
To discuss financing, the rep has to switch apps and sign in to an account they might use twice a month. If they can’t remember the password, the homeowner has to stand there and watch while they figure it out. That’s enough friction to make financing easy to skip.
JobNimbus Financing is part of the estimate, so reps can offer it wherever they’re already building and presenting estimates, including on mobile. Financing isn't limited to the estimate, though. From the Financing section on the job, reps can send a prequalification link before the estimate is built, so they know what a homeowner can take on before spending a morning on measurements. They can resend the link after the estimate goes out or send a loan link later in the job when a change order comes up. Whatever comes back is what lands on the job.

See where an application stands
Once a homeowner applies, someone on your team needs to know what happens next, but it gets messy when the status is stored elsewhere. The rep remembers that the homeowner applied on Tuesday, but only one person in the office regularly checks the financing portal. Production isn’t sure whether the job is ready to move forward.Â
If the homeowner calls with a question, the person who answers the phone may not have an answer.
Applications, approvals, and payments through JobNimbus Financing live on the job record next to the estimate and the rest of the job details. Anyone on your team who needs to know where a loan stands can see it from the job without having to sign in somewhere else. Production can tell whether the job is ready to schedule, and whoever answers the homeowner's call has the answer right in front of them.Â
Get paid at the start and finish
There’s another common question about financing: When do you get paid, and what happens to the deposit?Â
When the work is done, the homeowner confirms the job is complete and releases the funds. The money typically lands in your bank account one to three business days after they release it.
With progress payments, one loan can cover the deposit. The homeowner can release up to 50% of the loan at the start of the job—so the material order isn't waiting on their cash—and the balance once the work is complete. You only need one application and one approval to get two releases, all on the same job. The merchant fee is 3.9% of the job, whether it's paid out in one release or two. Wisetack may have additional requirements for progress payments.Â
From there, Wisetack and its lending partners handle the homeowner’s monthly payments. Your team gets paid for the job without having to collect those payments month after month.
Give homeowners another way to say yes
Price will always be part of the conversation, but when a homeowner wants the work and the lump sum is standing in the way, your reps should have another option ready.
JobNimbus Financing puts that option directly on the estimate and keeps the loan on the job, so your whole team can see where it stands. Homeowners get more flexibility to choose the project that works for them, and your reps get a simpler way to sell the scope they recommend.
JobNimbus Financing is now available for U.S.-based residential roofing and exterior businesses on the current version of Jobs. It's included with a JobNimbus account, with no setup fee or per-transaction charge from us and nothing beyond Wisetack's standard 3.9% merchant fee. You can keep any financing options you already use. Complete one application in JobNimbus to get started.Â
